The St Lucia Retreat and Training Centre is located on the eastern bank of the St Lucia Estuary in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park which has been declared as a World Heritage Site by a UNESCO protocol. It has an unparalleled natural environment, which abounds with fauna, flora and aquatic life. It lends itself to communion with God and nature in the spirit of the Encyclical “Laudato Si”.
Through the activities at the Centre and among the local communities we seek to stimulate Evangelization by mutual spiritual and cultural growth of the local church together with national and international groups coming to the Centre.
The Centre is an ideal setting for Evangelization through various types of retreats, conferences, training programmes, workshops, times for personal reflection and family and community sharing, and for specific groups wanting to encounter the grandeur of God revealed in Creation. There is also an outreach programme into several villages in the area.
